Microneedling

Microneedling, or percutaneous collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure involving tiny needles to create microscopic punctures in the skin. The punctures stimulate collagen production, improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks, and improving skin elasticity. Microneedling alone may also improve hair growth in those with alopecia. Ideal results are achieved after a series of treatments. Most people think of microneedling for the face; however, any area of the body can benefit from the effects of microneedling—face, decollete, scars, stretchmarks, and more. The effects of microneedling are enhanced when combined with platelet-rich plasma in the Vampire Facial and Vampire Hair Restoration procedures. Whether used with PRP or alone, microneedling will rejuvenate your skin and subdermal tissue. Platelet-rich plasma can be used anywhere you can microneedle.

Certain health or skin conditions may be a contraindication to treatment. Please inform your provider of any ongoing conditions that you may have. Cold sores may require pre-treatment with medication before any procedure. Certain cosmetic and skin treatments should not be performed within two weeks of the procedure. Notify your practitioner of all previous cosmetic therapies received.  Avoid sun exposure, self-tanners, or tanning beds for seven days before and after treatment. Before treatment, avoid alcohol, retinol medications, and all anti-inflammatory medications or medications that could thin your blood.
